Where The Action Is. September 21, 1965. Linda Scott sings "Yeh, Yeh". James Brown performs "Night Train". It sounds like the brief Ernest Borgnine voiceover was an error by ABC. Also the audio on this entire episode is a little strong. I'm not sure if it was an audio issue or just the transfer.

Nana Konomi - Japan (1966)
Переглядів 18 тис.11 років тому
Where The Action Is. August 09, 1966. Nana Konomi performs from Japan. Unfortunately Dick didn't announce the name of her song and I don't know it personally, so I have no title. If anybody knows the name, please share it with us so I can add it to the description. I remember reading many decades ago that Nana Konomi was considered to be Japan's version of Jackie DeShannon.

July , just before a month long tour of the midwest which wore them out and gave them no break before they went to England tired and sick (Hillman Croz and Clarke all had the flu) to strike while the tambourine man iron was hot..Their tour tanked as McGuinn later quipped :"being billed as America's answer to The beatles was like being billed as America's answer to the queen. The press hated us but The Beatles liked us."

The Classic Five. These voices made the hits, built the legacy, and provided the memories from the greatest age of recorded popular music. These are THE Temptations!

I was 11 .Just missed Nam. Barely remember this TV show . The beginnings of major league music. Very fortunate to grow up hearing such creative melodies by many bands. Exp. Hermans Hermits, Shocking Blue, it was so fun. Still like all music but that was the best time for me . Just finished Chris Hillmans interview on YT at the Library Of Congress. His Autobiography was a good read too.

Linda does a great rendition of the contemporary song of 1965 and could have transitioned from "Bye-bye Birdie" rock if given better material and support from her record label. The record label may have written her off as "vintage". She has talent....

The Kinks performing towards the end of perhaps the most bad luck tour in rock and roll history. They were banned from playing in the US shortly after.
